India’s Uttar Pradesh (UP) state government expects investments worth over ₹10,000 crore ($1.19 billion) in the proposed PM MITRA mega textile and apparel park in Atari village of Malihabad local administrative division of Lucknow district.

The aim is to offer all requirements of textile traders under a single roof.

Atari village is close to national highway-20 and state highway-20. The Malihabad railway station is 16-km away and the Lucknow railways station is 40-km away.

The state is planning to connect the village with a four-lane road and the textile park is expected to generate jobs for 100,000.

To be developed under a public-private partnership mode, the park’s infrastructure will cost around $59.5 million and $35.7 million has been allocated for manufacturing units, a press release from Invest UP said.

The facility will offer training, marketing, designing, packaging, manpower, consultancy and export services.
