Dibrugarh: Carcass of a leopard was found amid the tea bushes of Diroi Tea Estate at Demow in Sivasagar district on Wednesday, reports Rajib Dutta. The leopard was first spotted by a group of women tea pluckers who were going about their daily routine of harvesting green tea leaves in the morning hours. Unaware that the leopard was already dead, the women fled the scene in panic, alerting others about the presence of the big cat.
Forest officials said the exact cause of the death was yet to be ascertained.
