Masked robbers loot 6L from Kakching bank at gunpoint
Guwahati: In the troubled region of Manipur, where extortion by banned militant outfits is an emerging concern, a public sector UCO Bank branch in Kakching district was robbed of Rs 6 lakh at gunpoint on Wednesday. The incident occurred at the branch located in Kakching Bazar around 3 pm.
This robbery marks the fifth such incident in Manipur since violence erupted in the state last May.

Sources reported that a masked man, armed with a pistol and knife, threatened bank officials and forced the guard to allow him entry. It is suspected that more than one miscreant was involved in the robbery. Approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash was stolen.
Although the police arrived at the scene and began an investigation, the culprits behind the robbery have yet to be apprehended.
