Ranchi: With the nomination window for the 43 out of 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand set to open on Friday, the JMM leadership here is keeping its doors ajar for turncoats from the
NDA who are seeking tickets. Jharkhand goes to vote in the first phase on November 13.
The JMM leadership on Wednesday stated that several prominent leaders from other parties are in touch for tickets to contest assembly elections.
One of them, Ajsu party’s former Gomia MLA Uma Shankar Rajak, reportedly met CM
Hemant Soren. However, till the time of filing the report, there was no official confirmation about the meeting either from Rajak or JMM. According to sources, Rajak is eyeing to contest on a JMM ticket from Chandankyari as the seat has been left aside by his party to its ally BJP. JMM insiders said the party is likely to announce its candidates for the first phase by Thursday evening.
