Gurgaon: The crime branch on Wednesday arrested a labourer along with his friend for allegedly strangling a Class 10 student, Tushar (15), on Sept 26. Police said Amit (26), who is the teen's cousin, killed him with the help of his friend Tarun (29) for chatting with his wife and dumped the body at a plot off a village road, police said.
Tushar was a Class 10 student from Khalilpur.
On Sept 25, he left his home around 7.30pm for a walk but did not return home until late in the night. His family members were unable to locate him despite searching the village.
The next morning, a labourer working in a nearby field spotted Tushar's body in a bush next to a road connecting Ghilnawas and Khalilpur villages. He alerted the villagers, who informed the police. Tushar's father, Subhash Jangda, noticed injury marks on his neck and filed a complaint at Pataudi police station. A case was registered under Section 103 (1) (
murder) of the BNS against unknown accused on Sept 26.
During a preliminary probe, police found that Tushar was close to Amit's wife, and the latter suspected his cousin was secretly chatting with her.
"Amit bore a grudge against Tushar and hatched a plan with Tarun to kill him. The two accused told cops they killed Tushar. They took him near a dam close to Khalilpur-Ghilnawas road. After injecting an unknown drug, the duo strangled him with a rope," ACP (crime), Manoj Kumar said.
Both are currently in police remand, and they will be interrogated to recover the rope and bike they used for the murder.
