Mangaluru: Autorickshaw drivers, who were on an indefinite dharna from Monday, opposing the policy that allows e-autos to operate without permits, ended their protest on Thursday, following requests from people's representatives.
The Federation of Autorickshaw Drivers Association was opposing the central govt policy that allows e-autos to operate without permits.

They were demanding for the state govt put pressure on the central govt for the withdrawal of the policy.
Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, and MLC Ivan D'Souza visited the dharna venue and requested the autorickshaw drivers to withdraw the protest. People's representatives promised the autorickshaw drivers that the issue would be looked into seriously.
