Meena angry at govt’s failure to defend sacking of Dy SP
Jaipur: Cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena on Wednesday demanded that the state govt launch an inquiry into why it failed to defend in court the dismissal from service of deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Hiralal Saini. Meena said Saini's disgraceful actions had led to widespread humiliation of the police department.
In a letter addressed to minister of legal affairs Jogaram Patel and minister of state for home affairs Jawahar Singh Bedam, Meena expressed serious concern over procedural lapses that resulted in Saini's reinstatement by the Rajasthan High Court.

He said Saini, who was serving as DySP in Beawar at the time, was dismissed from service by the state govt on Oct 1, 2021, following the circulation of an obscene video showing him with a woman constable in the swimming pool of a resort in Pushkar. This scandal brought immense shame to the police force and triggered widespread condemnation from the public, Meena said.
