Twins fall into sump at pharma unit, die

Hyderabad: A pair of twins, who went to attend maintenance work at a pharmaceutical company, died after falling into a sump at Jeedimetla on Wednesday. Laxman and Ramu were 32 years old. They were engaged by authorities of the pharma company to clean the premises which was shut a long time ago.
While the brothers were cleaning the unit, one of them fell into the sump.When the other brother tried to help him, he also fell inside. Both lost consciousness. Another person, Surender Reddy, who tried to pull them out, sustained injuries as well.
All three were taken to the hospital, where the twins died while undergoing treatment. Surender is battling for life. Local police registered a criminal case against the company management who engaged the two workers for cleaning the premises. They were booked on the charge of negligence causing death.
