Hyderabad: BRS has decided to launch an agitation against the govt on the Musi riverfront project and HYDRAA demolitions. The party has pledged to stand by the victims of the Musi riverfront, stating that people, especially the middle class and poor, are facing problems due to the state govt's decision.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao held a meeting with MLAs and MLCs of Greater Hyderabad at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.
He asked the elected representatives to devise programmes on Musi and HYDRAA demolitions. He revealed that the previous BRS govt withdrew the Musi beautification project as the then chief minister KCR said no project should cause the poor to suffer. The party received nearly 450 applications, and the people would be provided with legal assistance.
"When Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the decision of demonetisation in 2016, he justified his decision by claiming that it would help bring in black money. Similarly, Revanth Reddy is claiming the Musi riverfront project will help the farmers of Nalgonda by providing water from Musi and beautification. Initially, he said the project cost would be 1.50 lakh crore, but now the govt says they did not prepare a detailed project report,"
KTR said in the meeting.
KTR declared that he, along with BRS leaders, would visit the STPs to expose the state govt and how the project would cause people to suffer.
