The investigation identified the accused as Nityanand, a resident of Nithari village, who allegedly committed the act at the school. The incident left the child scared and silent, and her parents noticed a change in her behavior.
When questioned by her parents, the girl revealed the incident, according to Mishra. The family then lodged a complaint on October 10 at Sector 20 police station. A case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, and the accused was arrested on October 11.
The accused worked as a sweeper at the school on a contract basis through an agency.
The school management stated that police reviewed CCTV footage from the school but found no evidence related to the incident.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
