Truck rams into cycle, automobile co staffer heading home dies

Gurgaon: A 42-year-old man was mowed down by a truck near Aliyar Chowk in Manesar on Sunday evening. He was returning home when the accident occurred. The truck driver fled the scene and has not yet been arrested, cops said. Based on the complaint of the victim's son, a fatal road accident case was registered.
Amarnath Yadav was a housekeeping staffer at an automobile company in Sector 3A.His son Annu Kumar works in an automobile spare parts manufacturing company in Sector 8. The duo lived in a rented house in Bhangrola.
In his police complaint, Annu said, "When my father was heading home in Bhangrola, his cycle was hit by a truck on its side, near Maruti Company Gate Number 1. Subsequently, he fell on the road and was run over. My friends and I saw the crowd raising an alarm and ran to the spot to find my father severely injured. The truck driver initially slowed down but quickly increased speed and fled from the spot."
According to police, Annu was nearby with friends, waiting for transport to go to Bhangrola. He quickly reached the spot when he heard a commotion around his father.
Police arrived after locals alerted them and took Amarnath to Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead. A case has been registered against the unknown driver. "We have the truck's registration number and will arrest the driver soon," said a police official.
