CHANDIGARH: Chief agriculture officer at Moga, Dr Jaswinder Singh Brar was given a warm send off on his retirement by his colleagues and local farmers’ leaders. Dr Brar was conferred with the state award by the Punjab government for effectively controlling the bug in Moga district with effective and timely treatment in 2010.
Earlier this year, Dr Brar was honoured at the 59th annual meeting of the alumni association of the College of Agriculture of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana.

He was nominated by his director (agriculture) as the state level ‘Best Extension Worker-2023’ for developmental activists in the field of agriculture.
SKM leader Satnam Singh Ajnala and BKU’s Nirmal Singh Manuke were present on the occasion. They said Brar motivated them to adopt scientific disposal of paddy straw, besides using mulching techniques. Brar retired after putting in 35 years of service.
