Ranchi: The Ranchi railway division of the South Eastern Railways (SER) on Tuesday flagged off an express train connecting the state capital with Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, who is also the Union minister of state for defence, flagged off the train virtually from New Delhi.
The new train comes ahead of Diwali and Chhath festivities.
“The train will ease travel to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Around 70% of its berths will be reserved for passengers boarding from Ranchi,” Seth posted on X.
Divisional railway authorities said the train (18629/30) will leave Ranchi every Friday at 5:10 pm and arrive at Gorakhpur on Saturday at 11:30 am. It will leave Gorakhpur every Saturday at 3:30 pm and reach Ranchi at 9:25 am on Sunday.
“The train will feature one AC first class coach, two AC two-tier coaches, seven AC three-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, and four general class coaches. It will halt at Muri, Bokaro, Chandrapura, Dhanbad, Chittaranjan, Jamtara, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Mokama, Patna Saheb, Patna, Pataliputra, Dighwara, Chhapra, Siwan, Bhatni, and Deoria Sadar railway stations,” they added.
