Ahmedabad: An AMTS bus on route number 142, travelling from Lal Darwaza to Vastral Gam, met with an accident at 8.40am on Wednesday. The driver lost control while turning near New Cotton Mill, causing the bus to crash into a tree. The impact shattered the windows and left four passengers with minor injuries.
AMTS officials responded by issuing a notice to the bus operator and imposing a fine of Rs 20,000.
AMTS deputy transport manager R L Pandey explained that the steering locked due to an oil leak, which caused the bus to hit the tree and break the windows. Officials arrived quickly after receiving the breakdown message, confirming that the driver was sober. The damaged bus was then sent to a workshop for steering repairs.
