Jaipur: Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) will soon start new AC buses on the Jaipur-Delhi route, which will be of the deluxe category but prices will be lower compared to the Volvo AC service.
For the Jaipur-Delhi route via Kotputli, the fare will be Rs 540, and via the Dausa expressway, the fare has been set at Rs 640, said officials.
The fare for the Kotputli route is about Rs 200 less than the Volvo bus service on the same route, and for the Dausa expressway route, passengers will save Rs 145 with this new category of AC bus service.
Of the 10 buses with BS-6 engine technology to be deployed on contract basis, eight AC buses will be started on the Jaipur-Delhi route and two on the Jaipur-Udaipur route. Of the eight buses for the Jaipur-Delhi route, three will operate via the Dausa expressway, said officials. Officials said RSRTC buses on the Jaipur-Delhi route have been losing popularity due to comfortable train services on this route, but now services are being started with reduced prices to increase the footfall.
