Bengaluru: The ministry of defence (MoD) said Tuesday that 462 Agniveers marched into the Parachute Regiment, marking the completion of their 24-week intensive training under the Agnipath scheme. Despite heavy rain, the passing out parade proceeded as planned, showcasing the recruits' unwavering determination.
Major General VT Mathew, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Karnataka & Kerala sub-area, reviewed the parade and urged the new soldiers to embrace the values of "imandari, wafadari and bahaduri" (honesty, loyalty and bravery).
He commended their turnout and drill, while also acknowledging the support of their families.
Agniveer Subrat Kumar Nanda from Odisha commanded the parade. Notable award recipients included Agniveer Lokhande Siddhesh Santosh, who won the Gill Medal for Overall Best Recruit.
The newly attested Agniveers will now move to designated special forces units for further probation and selection.
