Mysuru:
Congress spokesperson M Lakshmana on Wednesday stated that activist Snehamayi Krishna is trying to exert pressure on Lokayukta officers who are investigating the case against chief minister
Siddaramaiah by frequently urging them to subject the latter to questioning. He urged the authorities to detain Krishna until the investigation is over.
Lakshmana told reporters that he met Lokayukta SP TJ Udesh at his office and submitted a complaint demanding action against Krishna, who petitioned a special court seeking an investigation into the alleged Muda scam, and demanded his detention.
"Recently, Krishna accused me of influencing the investigation officer, which is a baseless accusation. So far, I have not seen Lokayukta SP," he said, adding: "By frequently approaching the media, Krishna is trying to put pressure on the investigation officers by accusing the CM of trying to influence the investigation and claiming there are no CCTVs at the office. Krishna is not allowing officers to investigate properly."
There is also a general feeling among the public that Krishna is backed by a section of BJP and JD(S) functionaries in trying to influence Lokayukta officers, Lakshmana claimed.
"A conspiracy is being hatched to trap CM Siddaramaiah by fabricating records with fake seals and trying to project them as certified documents, and this must be probed. Therefore, if a fair investigation is to be conducted, I request through this letter that a complaint be filed against Snehamayi Krishna, against whom several FIRs have been registered, and he be detained until the investigation is completed," urged Lakshmana.
