Pune: Five districts of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Bhandara and Gondia have more women voters than male voters.
The situation was similar in the Lok Sabha election, election officials said, adding that the recent summary revision drive saw more women registrations than men, state election officials said.
State additional CEO Kiran Kulkarni said that the gender ratio is 936 to 1,000 males as against the earlier 925 to 1,000 males in the 2019 elections.
"There was a marked increase in women voter registrations for both Lok Sabha and assembly election," he said.
A rise of 16.98 lakh voters was registered in the final electoral roll on August 30 after the special summary revision drive, wherein over 10 lakh were women voters as against six lakh male voters, he added.
Ratnagiri has 6,89,143 women voters, followed by Gondia's 5,69,269 Bhandara's 5,08,553, Sindhudurg's 3,39,650 and Raigad's 2,17,775.
