Mangaluru: The 2024 IEEE Discover, International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits, and Robotics, will be held on Friday and Saturday at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC).
Rio D'Souza, principal, SJEC, told reporters on Wednesday, that in its eighth edition, the conference brings together global researchers, innovators, and industry leaders to explore the latest advancements.
The event will commence on Friday with a formal inauguration ceremony followed by a keynote address by CP Ravi Kumar, director, technical talent development at Texas Instruments, India, on the topic ‘Discovery of Technology—Past, Present, and Future'. This will be followed by paper presentations across multiple technical tracks. The conference also hosts a panel discussion on the role of patents and standards in driving innovation. As many as 79 research papers from various states of India will be presented by authors under six themes: Distributed Computing, VLSI, Communication, Electrical Circuits, Robotics, and Healthcare.
The key highlights include a panel discussion on the role of patents and standards in driving innovation, featuring experts from industry and academia. Technical tracks where participants will present cutting-edge research on six subjects. The keynote speakers include SK Ramesh, California State University, delivering a talk on ‘Engineering the Future: Sustainable Development,' SD Madhu Kumar, NIT Calicut, will speak on ‘Cyber Security, Cyber Forensics, and DPDP Act.' Anindya Saha, Tejas Networks, will speak on the journey from prototype to standardisation.
The conference will conclude on Oct 19 with a valedictory ceremony and closing keynote on ‘Strengthening Data Protection in the Digital Age' by SD Madhu Kumar. Attendees will also enjoy networking opportunities and cultural programmes showcasing local talent.
