Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate's Hyderabad unit has issued an enforcement case information report (ECIR) and initiated a money laundering probe into a pension fraud involving CISF personnel where around 60 lakh was allegedly siphoned off.
The fraud involves the New Pension Scheme (NPS) of CISF personnel managed by the cheque drawing and disbursement officer (CDDO) under National Industrial Security Academy (NISA).

The ED probe is based on the FIR registered by Jawaharnagar police on April 18 last year following a complaint by CISF inspector Sreerama Krishna of NISA at Hakimpet, Shamirpet mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
An internal inquiry revealed that Roop Singh Meena, a head constable/clerk at NISA, was allegedly involved in the fraud along with other individuals during his attachment at NISA. The Jawaharnagar police registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against the accused.
"We have decided identify the money trail. The accused was questioned and we are working to recover the jawans' lost pension amounts," said an ED official.
