Lucknow: The Bahraich police have registered a case of unlawful assembly and murder against 10 persons in connection with the killing of Ram Gopal Mishra, 22 on Sunday.
The youth died of a gunshot wound he suffered during a communal face-off in the Mahsi area of Bahraich over playing of music during idol immersion in Bahraich on Sunday evening.
The FIR was filed based on a complaint by Gopal's brother, Hari Milan.

Six individuals have been named in the FIR, while four others remain unidentified. Police have formed special teams to arrest the accused. Another 30 people have been detained for violence since Sunday night.
Hari Milan, in his FIR to the police, said that around 4pm, his brother Ram Gopal went to Maharajganj market to watch the immersion of a Durga idol.
"Here, group of 10 people, including four identified as Abdul Hamid, Rinku alias Sarfaraz, Faheem, Raja alias Sahir Khan (all residents of Rehuwa Mansoor) caught my brother Ram Gopal, dragged him into the house, shot him, and inflicted multiple blows with a sword, which resulted in his immediate death," said Hari Milan in his FIR to the police.
"I, along with my brothers Rajan and Kishan, identified the above-mentioned individuals, but we could not identify the four unknown persons," he said.
Circle Officer, Mahsi, AK Singh, said that based on the complaint of Hari Milan, an FIR has been lodged under BNS sections 103 (group of five or more commit murder), 190 (unlawful assembly), and 191 (rioting).
