Three drug peddlers held with 22kg ganja in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Sulur Police in Coimbatore district arrested three ganja peddlers on Sunday and seized 22kg of ganja from them.
The arrested were identified as A Abdul Wakid, 29, K Rizwan Ul-Haq, 23, both from Malappuram district in Kerala, and S Navaneethan, 29, of Edaiyarpalayam near Vellalore in Coimbatore district.
Sulur Police inspector Mathaiyan and team apprehended the three following a tip-off and arrested them.They were remanded in judicial custody and lodged at the Coimbatore central prison.
Meanwhile, the Coimbatore rural police have requested the public to inform them about drug peddlers and anti-social elements in their locality. People can contact the police control room at 94981-81212 and WhatsApp number 77081-00100. The identity of the informers will be kept confidential, police assured.
