‘Ribandar to Vithal temple drain system augments flood defence’

Panaji: The completion of cross drains and stormwater drains from Ribandar Patto Circle to Vithal temple in Panaji has given a boost to the area’s resilience against monsoon flooding, the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd (IPSCDL) said on Sunday.
The project involved desilting, repairing and upgrading 19 cross drains, with the distance between each cross drain being approximately 145m, spanning a road stretch of 2.7km.Along with new drains, this ensures that the drainage system can handle even heavy rainfall.
The IPSCDL said that this project achieved improvements in Ribandar's drainage infrastructure. This will reduce the risk of flooding and ensure that streets remain accessible and safer for residents and commuters.
