Udupi: The Bharatiya Vidvat Parishat will host the 51st session of the All India Oriental Conference (AIOC) in collaboration with Sri Puttige Mutt and Central Sanskrit University at Udupi from Oct 24 to 26.
Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Puttige Mutt told reporters on Monday that this event, which started in 1919, will bring together scholars from across India to engage in discussions spanning over 20 themes, including Vedic studies, philosophy, linguistics, yoga and Ayurveda, Indian knowledge systems, and more.
This year, under the leadership of Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji, a special theme on Bhagavad Gita Studies has been included to discuss its relevance and importance in modern society. "Over 1,000 research scholars are expected to attend and present their papers during the conference. Eminent scholars from across the country have been invited to participate in the conference," he said.
During the Sanskrit Kavigosthi titled "Vadirajayuvakavigosthi," young men and women will present their original Sanskrit poems. This event offers young poets an opportunity to showcase their literary talents in the ancient language of Sanskrit and promises to be an attraction during the event.
As a part of Pandita Parishad, "Vidyamanyayuvapanditaparisad" for all young scholars and an exclusive session for women titled "Kalyaniyuvapanditaparisad" is organised.
The pontiff said the scholars will present research papers on diverse topics such as linguistics, philosophy and darshanas, manuscriptology, Bhagavad Gita studies, technical sciences in Sanskrit, and more. Vakyartha Sabha, Kavigoshti, and Pandit Parishat sessions will provide a platform for young scholars to show their prowess in traditional Sanskrit debates and poetry.
The Abhinava Dance Company will present their acclaimed production Tat-bharatam, celebrating India's cultural heritage. A book fair will offer access to rare publications and resources, providing an exclusive space for publishers, authors, and attendees to explore the latest and rare publications.
