IndiGo Flight 6E 1275 Taken to Isolated Bay After Bomb Threat

An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Muscat was delayed today after a bomb threat was received just minutes before takeoff. The aircraft, flight 6E 1275, was immediately taken to an isolated bay where security officials initiated mandatory checks, the airline confirmed in a statement.

“As per protocol, the aircraft was taken to an isolated bay, and following the standard operating procedure, mandatory security checks were promptly initiated,” IndiGo stated.

This incident follows closely on the heels of a similar bomb scare involving an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York. The Air India flight, carrying 239 passengers, was diverted to Delhi after Mumbai airport authorities received a bomb threat via X (formerly Twitter). Delhi Police confirmed that the aircraft is currently stationed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, where safety protocols are being followed diligently.

Authorities have heightened security at multiple airports across the country after a spate of recent threats. Just days ago, on October 5, Madhya Pradesh’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport received a bomb threat via email, prompting local authorities to register an FIR. The sender had also threatened to target other airports.

Another similar threat was received by Vadodara Airport, triggering a thorough security sweep. While many threats have turned out to be hoaxes, authorities remain vigilant to ensure public safety.
