Patna: A man allegedly died by suicide on Sunday, just a day after killing a woman in a village in Katihar district. The man was allegedly having an affair with the woman and he killed her over suspicion of her affair with another person of the same village, police said.
The woman was identified as Kanchan Devi (35), native of Hafala village under Mufassil police station area in the district.
She was allegedly killed by some sharp-edge weapon by Himachal Sharma (39), her neighbour, on Saturday. Himachal fled after the
murder and later his body was recovered hanging from a tree in Belirahika village.
According to the police, Kanchan was attacked while she was returning home with her goats. Her husband, Raju Sharma, was away for work. Himachal, a neighbour and her alleged lover, was identified as the prime suspect.
