Mumbai:
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief
Uddhav Thackeray underwent an angiography procedure at Sir H N Reliance Hospital in Girgaum on Monday, according to party functionaries and hospital officials.
Angiography is a diagnostic procedure performed to check blood flow within arteries.
Thackeray's son, Aaditya, posted on X on Monday afternoon that he had "a pre-planned detailed check-up at the Sir HN Reliance Hospital".
The message also said that "he is fully ready to get to work".
In 2012, Thackeray underwent an angioplasty, in which multiple stents were placed in his blocked arteries at Lilavati Hospital, Bandra Reclamation. On Monday, however, it is learnt that the angiography revealed Thackeray is doing well and "there are no issues with the functioning of his heart". Thackeray delivered a speech at Shivaji Park on Saturday on the occasion of Dussehra.
According to party sources, the angiography was carried out to ascertain if Thackeray is well enough to go on an extensive poll campaign across the state. tnn
