The initiative covers 18 blocks across Ranchi district, ensuring a wide reach and engagement.
The programme includes a variety of workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions conducted by experts in the field, such as psychiatrists and psychologists. These sessions will highlight the importance of prevention over treatment when it comes to mental health.
Civil surgeon Dr Prabhat Kumar stated, “These sessions aim to engage students in meaningful discussions about mental health, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to address their emotional well-being. Additionally, a fun game will be organized as a stress relief activity.”
Dr Kumar emphasized the importance of taking a proactive approach to mental well-being, stating, “By addressing these concerns head-on, the programme aims to create a supportive community where students feel comfortable discussing their mental health and seeking help when needed.”
Participants will also be encouraged to share their experiences and coping strategies, fostering peer support networks that can extend beyond the programme.

The interactive nature of the sessions is designed to break down barriers and encourage open conversations about mental health.
Dr Pawan Kumar Burnwal, a psychiatrist at Vedanta Hospital, emphasized the crucial role of family members in supporting their loved ones' mental health. He said, “Family members should be supportive, as they are often the first to recognise the mental health conditions of their loved ones. If any doubts or concerns arise, it's important to seek counselling promptly.”
