Bomb threat email at GNLU turns out to be hoax
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in the state capital Gandhinagar received a bomb threat email, which turned out to be a hoax after a thorough check of the premises, the police said on Monday.
An email with the subject ‘Evacuate' was received by several staff and faculty members of the GNLU on Sunday night. The email, written by ‘Harshit', claimed that several bombs were planted on the campus and that it must be evacuated ‘within a day'.

The institute authorities evacuated the students, who spent several hours, until early morning, outside the GNLU premises as the bomb squad teams conducted a thorough check.
A senior police officer in Gandhinagar said, "With the help of a dog squad, LCB (local crime branch), bomb squad, and Infocity Police, we checked the entire campus all through the night, but did not find any explosives. Cops are now trying to trace the source of the email."
The officer said that the institute did not file a formal complaint in the case. "Several threat emails were sent to the institutions in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in the past couple of years. We are looking at all possible angles."
