Shooter linked to Tillu Tajpuriya gang held
New Delhi: A 37-year-old shooter associated with the Tillu Tajpuriya gang was arrested by Delhi Police's Crime Branch on Thursday. Involved in a string of shootings linked to extortion and attempted murder in 2018, the shooter, Mohammad Aiman, had been evading arrest.
A Crime Branch team, led by inspector Sandeep Tushir, conducted extensive surveillance to track Aiman's movements.
The operation involved meticulous planning, combining technical methods and manual surveillance. Team members were divided into subgroups to watch potential hiding spots, ultimately leading to Aiman's arrest.
After gathering local intelligence and monitoring various hideouts, the team pinpointed his location in Bhalswa Dairy and apprehended Aiman at his hideout.
Police said Aiman was linked to a total of nine cases, including charges of extortion, attempted murder, and violations of the Arms Act. He was declared a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in two cases, one registered at Hazrat Nizamuddin police station and another in Punjab. Despite ongoing trials, he consistently failed to appear in court, prompting the issuance of legal processes against him under Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). tnn
