Varanasi: During his proposed visit to his parliamentary constituency on Oct 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only gift Kashi over a dozen ready projects worth Rs 1,300 crores, he is also likely to lay foundation and inaugurate projects for different airports of the country from here.
Sharing the PM's itinerary, Bharatiya Janata Party's Kashi Region President Dilip Patel said the party has started preparations for the PM's proposed visit in full swing.
After landing at LBSI Airport around 12.30pm and being welcomed by
BJP workers and people amidst beats of drums and damrus, with flower petals showering, the PM will first go to the newly-constructed Shankar Netralaya along Ring Road to inaugurate it. He will also interact with distinguished personalities associated with the Netralaya.
Thereafter, the PM will visit Varanasi Sports Complex (Sigra Stadium), built at a cost of approximately Rs 200 crores, to inaugurate it, apart from other ready projects. He will also address a public meeting at the same venue around 3pm, after which the PM will depart for Babatpur Airport by road, Patel added .
Patel further mentioned that the PM's visit comes on the heels of the BJP's historic victory in Haryana and impressive performance in Jammu and Kashmir. The party has started a series of meetings involving senior BJP leaders and workers for various arrangements for his visit.
Regarding the projects to be inaugurated, Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma said that the list of all projects, which are ready for inauguration like Sigra Stadium, Shankar Netralaya is being finalised. The PM will lay foundation stone of one more terminal building of LBSI Airport, said officials.
Time is being taken in finalisation of the list of new projects for which the PM will lay the foundation, as several other development projects of different airports are also being included in it. If the PMO gives approval, the PM will lay the foundation of all those projects remotely from Varanasi, sources added.
