Youth dies as bike falls off bridge while performing stunt in Varanasi

Varanasi: One youth was killed in Varanasi when his motorcycle fell from a bridge on the Varuna river while performing a stunt.
Surya Chauhan (21) of the Bajardiha area was killed while his companion Makkhan (19) of Khojwa area suffered grave injuries when their motorcycle fell into a nullah after hitting the boundary of a culvert near the Puranapul area under Sarnath police station after midnight.Inspector Sarnath Paramhans Gupta said that during the initial investigation, locals said that around 2.30 am, some youths on different motorcycles were racing when Chauhan failed to notice the wall of the culvert and collided with it.
His body has been sent for autopsy, said police.
In a separate incident, three persons on a motorcycle were killed when a speeding truck hit their vehicle near Badka Ghuman under Dramandganj police station in Mirzapur district on Saturday evening.
Lalganj circle officer Ashok Kumar Singh said that Amrit Kole (32) of Mauganj in MP, his wife Ranno Devi (29), and their six-year-old son Anup were killed when the driver of a fish-laden truck lost control of the steering and the vehicle hit their motorcycle. The truck later hit the divider and overturned. Drumandganj police sent the bodies for autopsy and seized the truck.
