Mumbai: Senior Leader Baba Siddiqui Shot in Bandra, Condition Critical

Mumbai, 12th October 2024: Senior leader from the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Baba Siddiqui, was shot at in the Bandra area on Saturday night. The incident occurred near Kherwadi Junction, outside the office of his son, Zeeshan Siddiqui.

According to initial reports, three assailants opened fire on Siddiqui at a traffic signal. Fortunately, he managed to escape, though he sustained serious injuries.

Baba Siddiqui, who was shot three times, was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Authorities are still investigating the identities of the attackers and the motive behind the shooting, which has caused a stir in the city.

Siddiqui, a prominent political figure, was formerly a member of the Congress party but joined Ajit Pawar’s group before the Lok Sabha elections. He is well-known in Mumbai, particularly for his famous Iftar parties during Eid, attended by Bollywood celebrities and high-profile politicians. The shooting has left many in shock, as Siddiqui has long been a significant presence in both the political and social circles of the city.

Police are investigating the incident, and more details are expected to emerge as the probe continues.
