Vijayadashami celebrations at Gorakhnath Temple started with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performing a puja on Saturday morning.The chief minister, who is also the Gorakhnath Math Peethadhishwar (head seer) performed the rituals for Shrinath, an incarnation of Guru Gorakhnath, dressed in traditional Nath sect attire.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in Haryana will be held on October 17 in Panchkula, the party said in a statement on Saturday. It said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior BJP leaders and chief ministers of some other states will attend the event.The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Dusshera ground at 10 am in Panchkula Sector 5.The BJP had indicated during the assembly election that Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as chief minister of Haryana in March, will be its choice for the top post if the party won.

'Shastra Puja' clear indication if need be, weapons will be used with full force: Rajnath
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Singh performed "Shastra Puja" (worship of weapons) at the Sukna military station in West Bengal, and said that the ritual is a "clear indication that if need be, weapons and equipment will be used with full force". The Sukna-based 33 Corps, popularly known as the 'Trishakti' Corps, is responsible for guarding the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in the Sikkim sector.

In the presence of local public representatives and villagers on Friday, Patwari (revenue official) Ravi Pandey carried out the formalities of taking possession of the land under Section 167 of the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms (Amendment) Act, 1950 as it was in violation of section 154 (4) (3) (b) of the ZALR (amendment) Act, Kainchi Dham SDM Vipin Chandra Pant said.
