Congestion over Vashi creek bridge set to ease
Mumbai: Your north-bound journey via Vashi creek bridge will get faster from Monday. Soon, a 498km coastal highway between Rewas and Redi will also be built to make your access to tourist places faster and decongest the existing Goa highway.
Chief minister Eknath Shinde will inaugurate the north-bound side of the bridge for motorists built on Sion-Panvel highway over Vashi creek through video conferencing around 11 am Sunday.

Shinde will also perform bhoomipujan for the marine highway from Rewas (Raigad) to Redi (Sindhudurg), besides for seven bay bridges, some of them cable-stayed, to be built over creeks and rivers for the same.
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Public Works (Public Enterprises) minister Dadaji Bhuse will be present. Work on the south-bound carriageway of Vashi creek bridge is in progress and 80% complete. Eoth carriageway has three lanes, eventually removing the present bottleneck. —Chittaranjan Tembhekar
