Woman (55), partner bludgeon her son (30) to death for objecting to relationship

Pune: A 55-year-old woman was arrested and her partner (34) booked on Thursday on the charge of bludgeoning her 30-year-old son to death for objecting to their relationship.
The Lonikand police on Thursday said the duo are both casual workers and the incident occurred in an open plot near a quarry at Lonikand early on Thursday.
Assistant inspector Nilesh Ghorpade of the Lonikand police told TOI that the woman's partner sustained injuries to his leg in a scuffle with her son.He is undergoing treatment in a hospital currently. "We will arrest him after his discharge," he said.
Ghorpade said the woman's elder son (32) lodged a complaint in this connection. The woman and her family are daily wage workers at a quarry and a neighbouring stone crushing unit. "The complainant, who lives in Perne Phata, said he came to know that his mother had taken took his younger brother to a hospital in an ambulance," he said.
The complainant reached the spot and found that his brother had been murdered. He informed the police about his mother's relationship with another man and that the two brothers had objected to it. "The police became suspicious after finding out that the mother's partner was admitted to the hospital," he said.
Ghorpade said the police took the woman into custody for questioning and she admitted to bludgeoning her son to death.
"Early on Thursday, the woman and her son had a quarrel over her relationship with her partner. The duo took the son to an open plot, where the two men had a scuffle. The woman and the man bludgeoned the son to death with a large stone," Ghorpade said.
