Mangaluru: Police booked separate cases against the staff of two private buses in the city for assaulting each other. Based on a complaint filed by Bhuvaneshwar BV, the conductor of Celina Bus, the city police booked a case against the staff of the bus Dharitri. According to Bhuvaneshwar, the driver of the bus Dharitri, Suresh, waylaid his bus on the State Bank-Vitla route at Kankanady on Oct 10.
Suresh, along with conductor Rakesh, allegedly entered the complainant's bus and assaulted and scolded the complainant in filthy language. Suresh and Rakesh injured Bhuvaneshwar and allegedly issued a death threat to him.
A case under Sections 126 (2), 115 (2), 118 (1), 351 (2), and 3 (5) of the BNS was registered in this connection.
In a counter-complaint filed from the government hospital in Puttur, Suresh, the driver of Dharitri, alleged that Bhuvaneshwar scolded his bus conductor in filthy language at Ambedkar Circle. Further, Bhuvaneshwar was also accused of spitting at the conductor. Suresh also accused Bhuvaneshwar of assaulting him and conductor Rakesh at Kankanady using a brush, which was used to wash the bus. A case under Sections 126 (2), 115 (2), 118 (1), and 351 (2) of the BNS was registered in this connection. Police said that an investigation into both cases is ongoing.
