Chandigarh: Rajya Sabha MP
Kiran Choudhry and her newly elected MLA daughter Shruti Choudhry on Friday blamed former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son and Rohtak MP
Deepender Hooda for the defeat of Congress in the Haryana assembly elections.
Interacting with mediapersons in New Delhi, the mother-daughter duo said Hooda and his son were the only persons responsible for the condition of Congress that has seen exodus of honest and sincere leaders in the last two years.
Both were in Delhi to meet Union ministers Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Manohar Lal Khattar and J P Nadda. Kiran termed the Congress allegations of EVM tampering as a move to divert the attention of people from the wrongs committed by the Hoodas. “We were sure that Congress would lose badly in Haryana due to the two and their aspirations. During elections they would go to bed after taking oath as CM. Now, they are blaming EVMs. But can Hooda ji explain how he has been able to win with such a huge margin. Or how Congress and its ally has won elections in J&K,’’ asked Kiran.
The parliamentarian also slammed the Congress high command for constituting a fact-finding committee to ascertain reasons for the defeat. “Such committees are nothing but a way to divert attention from fixing responsibilities. The fact remains the same that the father-son duo is responsible for the downfall of Congress. It is just because of Hooda and his son that honest, sincere and loyal Congress leaders had left the party,” said Kiran. TNN
