Shivamogga Dasara begins with puja for Chandika

Shivamogga: The Malnad city of Shivamogga on Saturday hosted Jamboo Savari to mark Vijayadashami. The festivities started with a special puja at the Kote Chandika Parameshwari Temple. Actress Bhavya participated in the puja. The procession began with the chanting of Vedic mantras by the priests of Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple from Shivappa Nayaka Palace. District minister Madhu Bangarappa, MLA SN Channabasappa, and others participated in the procession.
Three elephants from Sakrebailu elephant camp were the star attraction of the procession.Sagar carried the 650 kg silver ambari containing the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari. The other elephants Balanna and Bahaduru accompanied Sagar to the Allama Prabhu grounds.
The procession featured folk artists performing various folk arts, including Dollu Kunitha, Keelu Kudure, and other traditional dances.
