Shashank Singh came with a much-needed breakthrough for Chhattisgarh. He dismissed set-batter Ayush Badoni on 41, breaking an otherwise dangerous-looking 88-run partnership between Badoni and Himmat Singh.

Aditya Sarvate picks up his first five-for playing for Kerala as Punjab struggles at 143/9. Jalaj Saxena has taken the other four wickets. 

Post tea, Saurashtra has kept things tight, giving just 29 runs in 14 overs. Pradosh has not been able to rotate the strike. TN would have hoped to be at least 100 ahead by stumps on day 2.

Upendra Yadav’s 124 takes Railways to 307. Railways has set Chandigarh a target of 341 to win. 

Atharva Taide has entered his 90s as Vidarbha stretches lead past 100 runs against Andhra. 

Jammu & Kashmir has declared at 519/7 with Shivansh Sharma unbeaten on 106. Shivansh added 231 runs with Shubham Khajuria for the sixth wicket to take J&K past 500-run mark. 

Punjab in deep trouble in this rain-hit match as Ramandeep Singh falls for 43. Spinners Aditya Sarvate and Jalaj Saxena have picked all seven wickets between them. 

Sikkim leads by 157 runs in the second innings in what has been an evenly contested match so far. Let’s see what Day 3 has in store. 

A solid partnership of 70 runs between Ayush Badoni and Himmat Singh puts Delhi back on track. Both batters unbeaten on 33 at the moment. 

Himachal Pradesh finally declares its innings after amassing its third-highest Ranji Trophy total. Ankit Kalsi is unbeaten on 205, while Mayank Dagar is on 56 at the other end. A toil of 164 overs on the field finally ends for Uttarakhand.

Mumbai’s slide continues as Siddhesh Lad is dismissed by Akash Singh for 8. Shardul Thakur and Tanush Kotian will now have to put up a rearguard as Mumbai still trails by 109 runs. 

WICKET! Nitish Rana is caught plumb in front of the stumps as he misses a paddle-sweep off Shahbaz Ahmed. The left-hander goes for 32 as his 69-run partnership with Aryan Juyal ends. 

Kalsi brings up his maiden double-century in First-Class cricket as Himachal stretches its total to 641 for three. Uttarakhand’s bowlers continue to toil. 

Tamil Nadu into the lead with Pradosh and Indrajith at the crease. 

Ekant Sen falls for 101, but not before creating a rare record. Himachal becomes only the second team in Ranji Trophy history where the top-four batters scored hundreds. Shubham Arora, Prashant Chopra, Ankit Kalsi and Sen. 

Ranji Trophy: Himachal Pradesh creates history as top four batters score centuries

Himachal Pradesh recorded only the second instance of top four batters scoring centuries in one innings in Ranji Trophy during the match against Uttarakhand in HPCA Stadium on Saturday.

Shams Mulani departs for 16 as Mahesh Pithiya cleans him up. In comes Shardul Thakur next. 

Manipur is 31/0 after being asked to follow-on by Goa, which still leads by 247 runs. 

Shubham Khajuria finally falls for 255, the highest score by a Jammu & Kashmir batter in the history of the Ranji Trophy. He is dismissed by Hitesh Walunj, and that ends the mammoth 231-run stand between Khajuria and Shivansh Sharma. 

Just on the second day we have the first result of the Ranji Trophy. Haryana thrashes Bihar by an innings and 43 runs after Bihar is bowled out for 133 in its second innings. Haryana had responded with 254 after Bihar was skittled out for 78 in the first innings. Jayant Yadav picks a fifer for Haryana in the second innings.

The hundred-run opening stand comes up for Atharva Taide and Aman Mokhade. Both also get to their fifties. Vidarbha leads by 53 runs now. 

Sanat Sangwan falls at the stroke of Tea as he is clean bowled by Ashish Chouhan. Delhi still behind by 269 runs. 

Sai Sudharsan falls short of his hundred and has to walk back for 82 as he is run out. In comes Pradosh Ranjan Paul. 

WICKET !!! Sai Sudharsan is run out for 82. Looked for a quick single and a direct hit from Pujara with one stump to aim at. Have to say a bit needless: Dipak from Coimbatore. 

“After missing a simple caught & bowled opportunity against Yash Dhull, Shubham Agrawal made an instant comeback by stumping him off the very next delivery. Skipper Himmat Singh joins Sanat Sangwan,” pings Mayank. 

Shreyas Iyer’s forgettable red-ball form continues as he is dismissed for an eight-ball duck by Bhargav Bhatt. Mumbai 141/5, and still 149 runs behind. 

“Shreyas Iyer comes, and Shreyas Iyer goes, thanks to a peach by Bhargav Bhatt. It pitches outside leg, turns and bounces and takes the outside edge to the keeper. Shreyas lasts eight balls for a duck. Mumbai in trouble, 141/5. Can Siddhesh Lad turn the clock back and revive his reputation as a crisis man?” Amol with his insights. 

“Jyotsnil Singh has pulled off a stunner. Ajinkya Rahane’s fierce cut off Bhargav Bhatt injures Jyotsnil’s palm but he doesn’t leave the ball! Rahane gone, game on!!!” says Amol from the venue. Rahane walks back for 29. Shreyas Iyer and Siddhesh Lad fresh at the crease. 

Shubham Tari takes a fifer as Manipur is dismissed 278 runs adrift of Goa’s first-innings total. 

A very strong start by Vidarbha openers Atharva Taide and Aman Mokhade, and they take a 28-run lead. 

Ashish Chouhan breaks the opening partnership, nabbing Anuj Rawat for 21. In comes former skipper Yash Dhull. 

HP has gone past the 500-run mark. Kalsi going strong having crossed 150. He has added 89 runs for the third wicket at almost a run-a-ball rate and the duo is still unbeaten. 

Shahbaz traps Swastik Chikara in front to give Bengal its first breakthrough. Swastik goes for 41. 

Bihar once again in trouble at 72/5, trailing Haryana by 104 runs. Haryana needs five more wickets to win by an innings. 

Manipur has been reduced to 78/7 in response to Goa’s 376. Four wickets for Shubham Tari so far. 

Ravi Chauhan and Rajat Paliwal’s centuries takes Services to 402 against Meghalaya. Aryan picked up four wickets while Ajay Duhan took three. 

Double century for Shubham Khajuria in 312 balls. Only the third from J&K to score a double ton. 

Shubham Khajuria becomes first Jammu & Kashmir batter in 22 years to score double-century in Ranji Trophy

Shubham Khujaria became the first batter to score a double-century for Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy in 22 years during the match against Maharashtra in Srinagar on Saturday.

UP openers Aryan Juyal and Swastik Chikara have put on a solid opening partnership in response Bengal’s 311. 

Immediately after celebrating his fifty on Ranji Trophy debut, teenager Ayush Mhatre miscues a pull shot and Bhargav Bhatt accepts a skier on return. Mhatre dismissed for 52, captain Ajinkya Rahane joins Hardik Tamore. Mumbai 83/2

After Prithvi Shaw fell early, Ayush Mhatre and Hardik Tamore have added 43 runs so far to ensure Mumbai goes into lunch without further damage. Mumbai trails by 227 runs. 

A cautious start by UP openers Swastik Chikara and skipper Aryan Juyal. They have taken 14 overs to get 45 runs as Bengal’s pacers have bowled well so far. 

Prashant Chopra finally falls for 171 as his mammoth 211-run stand with Ankit Kalsi comes to an end. In comes Ekant Sen. 

Two quick wickets as Pratham Singh departs shortly after Shivam Chaudhary falls. Railways takes it lead to 113 runs. 

A spectacular batting collapse sees Andhra lose nine wickets for 39 runs, but it still takes a 49-run first-innings lead. With that, players will take the Lunch break. 

Openers Sai Sudharsan and N. Jagadeesan bring up the 100-run opening stand to put TN in the driver’s seat. Sudharsan brings up his fifty. Saurashtra has already used five bowlers for the first 30 overs, but without success. 

WICKET! Railways loses its first wicket as Shivam Chaudhary departs for 37, dismissed by Jagjit Singh Sandhu. Railways 108 runs ahead. 

Bihar loses opener Ayush Lohakura off the first ball of the second innings. With Bihar still 158 runs behind, it could well be on its way to an innings-defeat. 

Another wicket down as Andhra’s batting collapse continues. Lalith Mohan departs, dismissed by off-spinner Akshay Wakhare, who picks up his third. 

Interesting choice from skipper Amandeep Khare, who hands the ball to Ajay Mandal, the left arm spinner, to start the proceedings with the new ball against Delhi’s two left-handed openers -- Anuj Rawat and Sanat Sangwan, informs Mayank. 

Prashant Chopra and Ankit Kalsi have both scored their hundreds and they bring up their 200-run stand as Himachal is on course for a massive total. Uttarakhand has employed eight bowlers so far without much success. 

Andhra has lost six wickets for just 30 runs as Vidarbha stages a fightback. Harsh Dubey picks up three wickets. Abhishek Reddy and Shaik Rasheed have combined to score 124 runs between them as the rest of the batters failed to contribute in any meaningful way. 

Openers Sai Sudharsan and N. Jagadeesan have provided TN with a formidable platform and the host looks set to take the first-innings lead. 

WICKET! Krunal Pandya gives Baroda the breakthrough. Prithvi Shaw plays all over a quicker one that comes in after pitching and thuds into middle-and leg-stump through the gate: Amol. 

Railways openers Shivam Chaudhary and Vivek Singh have started off strongly after its bowlers bailed the team out by bundling Chandigarh cheaply. Railways now leads by 88 runs. 

Swastik Chikara has overcome some close calls and still remains in the middle. But Bengal pacers Mukesh Kumar and Suraj Jaiswal have troubled both openers. 

At drinks in the first session on day 2, TN openers N. Jagadeesan and B. Sai Sudharsan have seen off the early challenge. 62/0 in 18 overs. Fine start. Both batters have looked positive and Jaggi has looked in fine touch. Four boundaries for each and have rotated the strike well

Saurashtra bowlers have been a bit wayward, drifting on to the pads a lot. Would be disappointed in not utilising the overcast conditions and any juice in the pitch from the overnight rains.

Tanush Kotian takes four while Shams Mulani picks three. Baroda is bowled out for 290 with Mitesh Patel top-scoring with 86. 

Yash Dayal and Vipraj Nigam share four wickets each as UP bowls out Bengal for 311. Sudip Chatterjee the top-scored with 116. 

Hyderabad has lost both its openers - Tanmay Agarwal and Abhirath Reddy - very early in the innings. Chintan Gaja and Arzan Nagwaswalla have both taken a wicket each. 

Shubham Khajuria brings up his 150 in 221 balls. He has hit 20 fours and three sixes so far in his innings. A good unbeaten 79-run stand with Shivansh Sharma as well for the sixth wicket. 

Bengal has crossed the 300-run mark courtesy of a timely knock of 44 runs by Shahbaz. Vipraj Nigam has so far taken four wickets for UP while Yash Dayal has taken two. 

300 on the board for Chhattisgarh. Ajay and Shubham Agrawal’s stand is now worth 86 runs, and retired hurt batter Sanjeet Desai has also been padded up, indicating that the home team has plenty of options to frustrate Delhi bowlers.

Akash Pandey takes a five-wicket haul as Chandigarh is bowled out for 109, trailing Railways’ 142. Railways takes a 33-run lead. 

Sun is out and there is set to be a second inspection at 11 am, informs Sudarshan from ground. 

Fifty for Ajay Mandal! He reaches the milestone in 86 deliveries. Has played some exquisite shots, especially on the leg side. His flick off Navdeep Saini at deep third was the highlight of his inning today.

Manan Hingrajia’s 181 helped Gujarat get to 343. He missed out on a well-deserved double ton, contributing significantly with the lower order and has made sure Gujarat has enough on the board. 

Shams Mulani traps Atit Sheth in front early in the day. Sheth is out after scoring 66 off 154 balls. 

Ajay Rohera carries the bat being unbeaten on 94 as Pondicherry gets bowled out for 248 against Rajasthan very early into the Day 2. 

Start of Day 2 has been delayed due to wet outfield. MP 232/4. 

Another night of rain has meant there will be a delayed start in Indore on day two. Inspection at 9.45 am That’s not a pleasant-looking outfield! Fielders, especially pacers, will be cautious like on the opening day - N Sudarshan from Indore reports.
