MUMBAI:
Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA
Aaditya Thackeray made his debut speech at the party’s Dussehra rally in Shivaji Park. Aaditya stated that the election model code of conduct would not be announced for the state assembly polls until all Government Resolutions (GRs) and decisions for Adani were taken. He emphasised that the MVA govt would not allow Mumbai to be swallowed up by Adani.
Aaditya warned officials that if they signed any illegal files, the MVA govt would put them behind bars. He mentioned that their govt would remove and review every file, making officials sit at home or putting them in jail. Aaditya criticised the Eknath Shinde-led govt, accusing it of corruption.
“When we went to Davos (to attend the World Economic Forum), we brought an investment of Rs 80,000 crore. However, the Shinde govt squandered Rs 40 crores in 24 hours. He scammed everything…files are lost. We will open all the files after our govt comes. Industries in the state are moving to Gujarat. Our rightful jobs are being given to Gujarat. I will fight for it. The administration of the Shinde govt is a khoke (moneybags) for itself, but betrayal for the state,” Aaditya said, addressing the party’s annual Dussehra rally for the first time at Dadar's Shivaji Park.
“The upcoming assembly battle is an important one. The moment we have been waiting for 2.5 years will come soon. The state election will be announced soon. An official told me that until Adani's work is done, there will be no code of conduct. This battle is important. This battle is not personal, but to stop the looting of Maharashtra. The people want to decide whether Mumbai should be allowed to be put in Adani's throat. Many projects are being distributed to friends. We need to show our solidarity to stop it,” Aaditya said.
