Student shot at after dispute; accused yet to be arrested
Noida: A university student was shot at after getting into a dispute with some other young men in Sector 125 on Friday.
Gaurish Bhati, a resident of Salarpur village who studies at a private university located in Sector 125, is undergoing treatment at the hospital and teams have been deployed to arrest the accused, police said. The incident occurred near a stoplight, with people reporting that the accused shot Bhati and stayed there for several minutes, police said.

"Sector 126 police received information that someone was shot during a dispute in Sector 125 and that the injured was taken to Kailash Hospital. Police reached the hospital and found the injured, Bhati," deputy commissioner of police Rambadan Singh said.
Bhati was in a dispute with some other students of the same university, identified as Prithvi Awana, Sanjay, and Kunal, on Thursday.
Awana, a resident of Atta village, then called Bhati to settle the matter on Friday, but the two began to fight again.
Awana allegedly abused Bhati and the matter escalated to the extent that Awana shot him in the leg. Awana and the other two then fled. "Teams have been deployed to arrest the accused," DCP Singh said, adding that the licence and origin of the weapon are also being traced. The family members of the accused are also being interrogated.

Police have also informed the management of the university that the suspects attend.
They have learned that the three often get into disputes on and off campus. Videos of fights on campus also make rounds on social media often, due to which police recently held a campaign on campus.
With the latest incident, in which the university has said the three suspects would be suspended, police are considering another campaign, officials said.
