Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the 21st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and India Summit in Vientiane, Laos, on Thursday, announced a 10-point plan while underlining the utmost importance of dialogue and cooperation between India and ASEAN at a time of conflict and tension in many parts of the world. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the importance of dialogue and cooperation between India and ASEAN, highlighting respect for each other’s national integrity and sovereignty. 

Modi also highlighted initiatives such as celebrating 2025 as the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism, doubling the number of scholarships at Nalanda University, and enhancing disaster resilience. The 10-point plan is as follows.

The joint statement on strengthening the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership emphasised promoting peace, stability, maritime safety and security, and cooperation in marine security, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
