Durga Puja committees on Thursday cancelled or rescheduled their programmes as the state observed a day's mourning due to
Ratan Tata's demise on Oct 9.
The CH Area Northern Town Sarbajanin Durga Puja rescheduled their cultural programmes to other dates. Usually, members of the puja committee present a play on Saptami but they decided to reschedule it.
The committee comprises many officials and executives from Tata Steel.
“We had a performance by the students of Masti ki Pathshala and a play by our committee members. However, we met in the morning and decided to cancel all events today. All programmes have been rescheduled to tomorrow and day after,” said president of the CH Area Northern Town Sarbajanin Durga Puja, Amitava Bakshi.
The Jamshedpur Durga Puja Committee commonly known as Bengal Club Aambagan too decided to cancel its musical programme on Thursday. Debashish Naha, secretary of the Jamshedpur Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee, said that the dhunuchi naach was also rescheduled.
