PhD scholar found dead at IIT-Kanpur; 4thsuicide in one year

KANPUR: A PhD scholar, 28, at IIT-Kanpur (IIT-K), Pragati Kharya, ended her life in her hostel room on Thursday, the fourth such incident at the institute in the last one year.
Pragati was pursuing a doctorate in Earth Sciences. As she didn't attend morning classes, her friends called her up multiple times, but there was no response. Hostel inmates informed the authorities, who alerted police.A suicide note was found, but she held no one responsible for her action.
