Devout from Pak, Bangladesh to arrive for Maha Kumbh
Prayagraj: Devotees and seers from neighbouring Pakistan and Bangladesh will be hobnobbing with their counterparts here while camping at the Juna Akhara this Maha Kumbh.
The seers will be performing puja in the Juna Akhara camp and interacting with seers of different akharas too. Seers of Juna Akhara, who have their followers in the border areas of the country, are in contact with Hindus of Pakistan and Bangladesh and they have already started the process for applying for visas.
"The process of getting their visas is already on, and we expect that these devotees will come to Prayagraj before the first royal bath of Makar Sankranti," said patron of Juna Akhara and general secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), Mahant Hari Giri.
He added that the teams of seers have been touring the Hindu-populated areas in both these countries for the last three months and have contacted the overseas devotees. "So far, more than 700 seers and devotees from Pakistan and more than 400 from Bangladesh have been contacted," Giri added.
Application forms are being given to the govts of both the countries and the Indian embassies so that their visas can be made well in time. "Our aim is to spread Sanatan Dharma globally. People in these countries should connect with Sanatan Dharma, join India's biggest religious fair, and come here to know our culture," said Mahant Giri. Also, when they go to their country, they should promote this culture on a wide scale. These people are being called for this very purpose, he added.
"We invite everyone who comes to Maha Kumbh with proper papers," he said.
