Nitish transfers ₹7,000to each flood-hit family
Patna: In a concerted effort to aid the flood-affected people of the state, chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday transferred gratuitous relief worth Rs 225 crore, benefitting over 3.21 lakh families impacted by floods caused by the Kosi, Bagmati and Gandak rivers. Each family received Rs 7,000 with the funds directly deposited into their accounts during a ceremony held at the Sankalp auditorium of the CM’s official residence, as per a communiqué from the disaster management department.
Earlier, on October 4, the CM had transferred Rs 306 crore to over 4.38 lakh families affected by floods from the Ganga river.

Thus, in two installments, a total of Rs 531 crore has now been disbursed to support 7.60 lakh flood-affected families.

The consignment was handed over to local authorities in Banke district. India, committed to aiding Nepal, is also arranging additional hygiene items and medicines following the devastating floods and landslides that have claimed over 240 lives.
