Ahmedabad: The standing committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Thursday approved a nine-storey Urban House near Law Garden in Navrangpura ward. It will be built on a 5,304 sq m plot with an estimated cost of Rs 76 crore. The Urban House will have offices of the AMC's town planning and town development departments, and state govt's town planning officers.
The primary functions of the Urban House will be to handle town planning scheme drafts and grant development permissions for new buildings. The AMC standing committee approved the consultant's design and the estimated cost of the Urban House, and a tender is expected to be issued shortly.
The Urban House, with a ground floor and nine additional floors, along with two basements, will have a built-up area of 21,240 sq m. The construction of the building will cost Rs 52.15 crore, while an additional Rs 24 crore has been allocated for interior design work.
