Ludhiana: Arrested by the railway police of
Andhra Pradesh in a theft case, a Uttar Pradesh man was brought to Ludhiana for recovery of stolen goods. However, the accused gave a push to the policemen and escaped. The incident happened near Mohini Resorts at Chandigarh Road on Tuesday.
Division number 7 police lodged an FIR against the accused, identified as Ram Karan of Gonda, from UP, on the complaint of inspector B Ashok Kumar of Railway Police, Andhra Pradesh.
Sub-inspector Palwinder Singh from division number 7 police station, said that the railway police of Andhra Pradesh had arrested Ram Karan in a theft case and for recovery he was brought to Ludhiana. According to Andhra Pradesh police, the accused confessed that after executing the theft he came to Ludhiana and took shelter here at a rented accommodation of one of his relatives. He hid cash and other stolen valuables with his relatives. When the police and the accused reached near Mohini Resort, the accused gave a push to the police personnel and escaped.
