45-yr-old already convicted of rape sentenced again for molesting child

Thane: A 45-year-old man with a previous rape conviction was sentenced again, this time to seven years of rigorous imprisonment by the Special Pocso court in Thane on Wednesday.
The 11-year-old victim testified in court against the accused, which led to his conviction. Special Judge D S Deshmukh found the man guilty of offences under the Pocso Act, including kidnapping and outraging the modesty of an 11-year-old.
According to special public prosecutor Sandhya Mhatre, the incident occurred on Nov 22, 2019. The victim was at a shop when the accused, her neighbour, forcibly took her to an unoccupied room where he molested her and touched her inappropriately. The girl's cries for help attracted nearby residents, who rescued her and handed him over to the police. TNN
